A Seamless Blend of Form and Function: The Ultimate Fireplace and TV Wall

In Lance Anderson’s Prior Lake, Minnesota home, one feature stands out as the pinnacle of modern design: a meticulously crafted fireplace and TV wall. This stunning centerpiece, created in collaboration with Stellar, redefines what’s possible when design ambition meets engineering expertise.

A Bold Vision

From the outset, Lance had a clear vision for this feature wall: a 100-inch TV, seven-foot speakers, and a seven-foot linear fireplace, all integrated seamlessly into a single, unified design. “It was super important to me that the glass of the fireplace and the glass of the TV were on the same plane,” he said. The challenge was as much about achieving visual harmony as it was about solving complex engineering problems.

Lance’s request to align the glass surfaces, while maintaining functionality and safety, pushed the limits of traditional design. The result? A cantilevered fireplace design that extends forward from the wall, allowing the TV and fireplace to exist in perfect symmetry.

Custom Design Meets Precision Engineering

The key to achieving this sleek, modern look was customization. Stellar’s expertise allowed the team to size the fireplace opening precisely to match the dimensions of the TV and speakers, eliminating unsightly filler pieces. Ross from Stellar explained, “We can size the opening to match the TV, size the height to match the speakers, and extend the front of the fireplace so it all looks like it’s in one seamless plane.” This attention to detail created a wall that feels as cohesive as it is striking.

The custom steel panel that frames the entire wall enhances the sense of unity. Finishing materials were brought right up to the firebox, creating a clean, uninterrupted look. The fireplace and TV wall isn’t just functional—it’s a work of art.

Sophistication in Simplicity

Though the final product appears simple and effortless, the engineering behind it was anything but. Fitting such large components into a single wall while maintaining safety and functionality required innovative thinking. The fireplace uses Stellar’s advanced cantilevered design, which adjusts airflow and exhaust systems to ensure the outer glass remains cool and safe to the touch, even as the flames burn brightly.

Stellar’s approach also allows the fireplace to deliver consistent heat management. With up to 140,000 BTUs spread evenly across its seven-foot length, the flames remain vibrant and uniform. Each linear foot of flame has its own burner supply, ensuring no part of the fire diminishes in intensity.

The Perfect Balance

This fireplace and TV wall is more than just a design statement—it’s a practical solution for year-round enjoyment. Stellar’s engineering ensures the fireplace operates beautifully without overwhelming the space with heat. “Having the fireplace on in the evening and not generating a ton of heat really made it something I can use all year round,” Lance shared.

For those seeking modern elegance, this design also proves that traditional fireplaces have a place in contemporary homes. “As you go more modern, it doesn’t make sense to have a traditional fireplace,” Ross explained. “This linear design fits perfectly with the clean, minimal aesthetic Lance wanted.”

The Heart of the Home

At the end of the day, the fireplace and TV wall isn’t just a feature—it’s the heart of Lance’s home. It’s where family and friends gather, where evenings feel cozier, and where design and technology come together in perfect harmony.

“It really was a collaborative effort,” Lance reflected, acknowledging the team of architects, builders, and Stellar experts who brought his vision to life. Thanks to their combined expertise, the fireplace and TV wall isn’t just functional—it’s a bold statement of modern design excellence.
